I'm a father, husband, and family man who happens to be a second-generation dentist. I had a very successful career in dentistry that unfortunately led me to a breaking point of anxiety and depression. On the outside I was making good money, speaking at the top podiums around the world, and leading a celebrity practice in Beverly Hills, CA. Nobody knew I was suffering on the inside. I needed to find a way out of this dark side of dentistry. This is how Light Side was founded.
I was able to pull myself out of the darkness and into the light by way of research-driven protocols, habits, and tools. When I started telling other dentists about my journey, they wanted to learn about how they could implement my knowledge. To date, I have helped and mentored countless doctors from around the world and Light Side remains my proudest accomplishment in my career.
I have been with my husband for almost 30 years and becoming a dentist was something that I wanted from the time I was 16 years old. Every job I ever had was in dentistry. Then, about 10 years into my clinical career, my dream was ripped away from me by a medical disablement. That led to a lot of hard work and some luck. Eventually, I landed at Spear Education, which was known by dentists all over the world, and inside I was miserable. That is when I decided to become a certified coach.
Through this process of learning, coaching, emotional intelligence, and happiness studies I have not only been able to help others but to see myself in a different light. When I finally realized that we all share the same demons, everything changed. I became authentic and found that others would gravitate toward me. Standing in my power to help others as a coach remains my proudest accomplishment in my career.

Light Side Live is a 2-day in-person course.
Yes! This course is very interactive and there will also be a social event on the first night.
A few weeks after the course is complete, you will be issued your CE Credits.
Absolutely not! Although some issues might be more relevant in some countries compared to others, all dentists deal with issues and this course is definitely going to help everyone. This is a topic we will discuss in the course. We have had dentists from 5 different continents take this course!
We would highly recommend this course for dental students and recent grads (there is a recent grad discount) since these topics should be addressed in dental school. By understanding the stress points in dental practices, young doctors can build resilience and mindfulness in addition to limiting their liability and practicing with more joy.
No! Stress and burnout go in waves during one's career. We have found that by understanding these topics, you may be able to have better resilience in your future practice.
Yes! We have helped dentists to avoid stress by understanding it from the get-go. If you have very little stress, you may also be able to help others in the community with your experience.
